Handwriting
of a person is a reflection or a mirror to his mind. There
is a grave misconception that it is primarily produced through
the handwriting muscles alone. The fact of greater importance
is that the brain sends the signals picked up & interpreted
by the handwriting muscles. The handwriting is not a mere
physical process but originating in the brain & being
reproduced through muscle contrations may be termed as "brainwriting".
The handwriting of an educated person or a well versed writer
stands in a sharp contrast when compared with that of an illiterate
person. |

No
two persons can ever write alike and this principle is the
basis for identification of handwriting. |
|
|
|
It is
never possible for a person to write better than his writing
ability, though he may write inferior handwriting. |

The numerical
adequacy in writing standards shall establish the range of
normal variations and their extent in a person's handwriting. |
| |
|
|
Natural
variations form an inherent part of an individual's handwriting
and its range is entirely a personal attribute. These variations
depend on the spontaneity or speed of execution, writing conditions,
mental & physical conditions and the purpose behind their
obtention among other factors. |

|
Degeneration
in an individual's handwriting is prone to affect all the
handwriting characteristics cumulatively and is not confined
to a few of them. |

If
properly scrutinised, a forgery may be treated as a mixture
of two distinct writing personalities i.e. the forger incorporating
or transporting the traits of the writer of the model signature
(s) combined with the personality of the forger himself.
If application of this important principle is properly understood,
there may be chances in certain cases to even identify the
forger as the forger may leave clues to his individuality
& mannerisms. The identification of the forger shall
primarily depend on as to what where and how much clues
have been left & of course their scientific interpretation. |
